NoTicket Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 21, 2026. NoTicket helps you remember where you parked in New York City and avoid street-cleaning tickets. This policy explains what information the app handles, where it goes, and how to delete it. NoTicket is currently offered in the United States only.

The short version

• You can use NoTicket's core features (saving a spot manually, sign lookups, reminders) without an account. In that mode your parking data stays on your device. Widgets, auto-detect, car sharing, and the sign map are part of NoTicket Pro.
• If you sign in and share a car, your saved parking spot (precise location, address, and curb side) is stored on our servers and shown to the other members of your shared car.
• We keep no location history: the server stores at most one live parking spot per car, overwritten in place. Clearing the spot erases its location payload.
• We show no ads, use no advertising or cross-app tracking, and never sell your data.
• You can delete your account (and its data) directly in the app.

Information we collect

Parking spot data. When you save a spot, the app records precise GPS coordinates, GPS accuracy, the curb side, a reverse-geocoded street address, the street-cleaning rule in effect, and reminder times. Signed out, this lives only on your device (and in the shared container your widget reads). Signed in with car sharing, it is also stored in our backend and synced to your car's other members.

Location in the background (optional). If you turn on auto-detect, the app uses visit monitoring, significant-location-change wake-ups, and motion activity (driving vs. walking) to notice when a drive ends and suggest saving the spot. Motion and fitness data is processed entirely on your device and is never uploaded.

Account data (optional). If you create an account with Sign in with Apple or email, we store your email address, an optional display name, your sign-in provider, and an account identifier. Your display name is shown to members of your shared car (for example, "Dan parked at 94 Guernsey St"). We never see or store your password; authentication is handled by our backend provider.

Push tokens. To notify your car partner when the spot changes or a move-the-car deadline approaches, we store your device's Apple push notification token linked to your account.

Purchases. Subscriptions are processed by Apple. Our billing provider, RevenueCat, receives your purchase receipt and an app-scoped user identifier so we know which features you're entitled to. We never receive your payment card details.

Street-cleaning lookups. Sign rules are answered entirely from a database bundled on your device; sign lookups never leave your phone. Checking the alternate-side-parking suspension calendar sends only date ranges to NYC's public 311 API, never your location.

Crash reports. If the app crashes, a technical report (device model, iOS version, and the state of the code at the moment of the crash) is sent to our crash-reporting provider, Sentry, so we can find and fix the bug. We configure crash reporting to omit user identifiers and IP addresses, and reports contain no account identity and no parking data.

What we don't collect. No contacts, photos, health data, browsing history, advertising identifiers, or analytics profiles. The app includes no analytics SDK.

How we use information

Solely to provide the product: showing your parked car, computing move-the-car deadlines, delivering reminders and partner notifications, syncing a shared spot between car members, and honoring paid entitlements. We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or cross-app tracking, and we do not sell or rent it.

Who can see your information

• Your shared-car members see the live spot (location and address) and your display name (that is the point of sharing). They never see your email.
• Service providers processing data on our behalf: Supabase (database, authentication, serverless functions), RevenueCat (subscription management), Sentry (crash reports, configured without user identifiers), and Apple (Sign in with Apple, push notification delivery, payments). Each receives only what it needs to perform its function.
• NYC public data services receive only the minimal queries described above.
• No one else, except if required by law.

Retention and deletion

• The server keeps at most one live parking spot per car, updated in place. Clearing the spot nulls its location and address. There is no server-side history of where you have parked.
• Deleting your account in the app (Settings, Account, Delete Account) revokes your Sign in with Apple grant, deletes your push tokens, invites, and car memberships, erases your email and display name, and deletes your authentication record. If you were a car's only member, the car and its spot are deleted. Anonymized subscription records are retained as required for billing integrity.
• Data on your own device (your local parking spot, settings, caches) stays under your control and is removed by deleting the app.

Your choices

• Use the app without an account; sign-in is never required for core features.
• Grant location access at the level you prefer. "While Using" is enough for manual saves; "Always" is only requested if you enable auto-detect, and you can turn auto-detect off at any time.
• Turn notifications on or off in iOS Settings.
• Marketing email is opt-in only: the "parking tips" toggle is off unless you turn it on, and you can change it any time in Account settings. No marketing email is sent today.

Children

NoTicket is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Security

Data in transit is encrypted with TLS. Server-side access is enforced with row-level security so car data is visible only to its members. Session credentials are stored in the iOS Keychain.

One honest disclaimer

NoTicket is a reminder tool, not a guarantee. It reads official NYC street-cleaning data and does its best to warn you in time, but posted signs are always the final word. Deciding where to park, checking the signs at the curb, and moving your car are your responsibility, and NoTicket isn't liable for parking tickets, fines, towing, or other penalties.
